Community Child Development Center
Goals: Potty Training!!!
In this class we dive into our curriculum. Your child will now have a scheduled “circle time”, weekly Spanish and Sign language words, you can expect the lesson plans change weekly and extra communication on your child’s development. This includes Parent-Teacher-Conferences.
What to bring with your child “Check list”:
Sleep:
Nap time is 2 hours long with ½ hour quiet time prior to full rest/sleep. Transition into the Cricket room can support weaning from pacifiers.
Diapers & Wipes:
It is preferred parents bring disposable diapers for sanitation reasons. A child goes through 5/6 diapers in a day so please bring enough to last. We will try to remind parents when your baby is running low on diapers but in a case where we run out there is a $1.00 charge per diaper when using St. John’s stock.
Crickets share their wipes. These “community wipes” are used in many ways of cleanup. We ask the children to bring 1 box of wipes and 1 box of tissues per month.
***Please let us know if your baby has sensitive skin
Discipline:
First it is imperative to understand that “Discipline” at any age level is not “punishment” for bad behavior. In fact the word discipline means teaching. Discipline is a door of opportunity to teach children the appropriate ways to meet their needs. Our teachers practice what we call “Distract and Redirect”. More effective than simply saying “No” distracting and redirecting allows us to take the child out of the inappropriate situation and then with “hand over hand” showing the child the appropriate action.
